Homelessness was never on my curriculum. Passionately addicted, determination my calculated vice, financial devastation the cloaked side effect. Oprah made me do it, she dictated: “do what you love”, I listened. Doing what I love flushed my current mission into focus. As the blues engulfed my being, (homelessness will make you hear the blues, sing them even), love and kindness paved the way. The documentary and writing this book seemingly unobtainable, covertly pre-designed, conclusively ordained. To quiet the voices, I waltzed through the maze, surrendered to the memories, made love to the journey, became whole.
